About Debbie of PhotoVirginia.com

July 2010 pic of me holding my precious granddaughter, KyleeAnn.

My name is Debbie Moore.  I am a 53 year old professional photographer that is divorced and a single mom.  I have 4 children ranging in age from 33 years old down to 16 years old.  My 16 year old daughter is the only one that lives with me.  All the rest are grown.  I became a grandmother for the first time on Jan. 5th, 2010.  My oldest daughter (the mother of my granddaughter) is my partner in my photography business.

As far back as I can remember I have had a camera in my hand and wanted to be a photographer, but I met my ex husband when I was a senior in high school, married him a year later and then got pregnant a month after we got married.

I was offered a chance to be a photographer for Olan Mills when my oldest was 18 months old, but that entailed me going away for training to another state for 2 weeks and leaving my baby and my husband and it was just never a feasible time for me to do that.   So I became an advertising executive and worked for a local newspaper and a local publishing company.  I was very good at selling advertising and loved it but that passion for photography was still inside me.  I have album after album and box after box of my photos.  I can’t even begin to account for how much money I spent on developing my film.  Thank goodness for digital camera’s because now I just put my 100+ gigs of photos on CD’s or DVD’s.

In 1992, I left the advertising field and ventured out into the world taking more and more photos and learning more about it as each day went by.  I consider myself a good photographer and have quite a few shots that I am extremely proud of and glad that I was there at just the right time.   I am an avid Nikon fan and have 2 great Nikon digital camera’s.  I, also, truly believe that your memories are kept alive each and every day by taking photos of the daily events in your life.

Look back at your photo’s and see if you can’t remember exactly where you were and what you were doing during those photos?   A lot of our childhood memories are relived through our photos.  I “NEVER” leave home without my camera, because what if I see something or happen upon something that I will never have the chance to see again?  I can take a photo of it and it is there on my computer or on my CD’s for me to always remember, to always look back on and think of what I was doing at the time.

I have specials going on all the time with my photography business here, on my website. My work has been featured in several local magazines, several online websites, on a Washington, DC map, and I have had several of my photos on Channel 10 and Channel 7 news.

I am always looking for new clients and going out taking photos of just about anything that catches my eye.  You can reach me several different ways.  Call 540-890-2223, 540-334-2232, send me an email at photovirginiadm@gmail.com You can find me on Twitter HERE and you can find me on Facebook HERE

I now take portraits of just about anything or anyone that can be photographed.  Give me a call or send me an email if you need professional portraits done for any occasion in the SW VA, Central VA, or Southside VA areas.
