Let me tell you all one thing, the best idea that I ever came up with for a birthday party for my daughter was a Karaoke Party.  Teenagers love it and who doesn’t have a secret urge to hold a microphone and hear themselves singing through a good speaker?  It was awesome, all the kids loved it and they danced, sang and had the most fun of any party that I have had for my dear daughter.

It took a lot of work because I really didn’t have the money to rent the Karaoke CD’s and besides I doubt they would have had the music that teenagers like these days, so I made my own karaoke cd’s and went to lyrics.com and got the lyrics to most of the songs that I knew that the kids would like.  The one thing I did not do was mark the CD’s as CD 1, CD 2, etc.  Make sure you do that. 

I made 10 Karaoke CD’s and had each in a CD Case.  We had a Karaoke Contest and had 4 of the parents there to be judges.  Each person that participated got one of the CD’s as their prize.  I had all of the songs listed on a piece of paper in the CD Case but as I said before I forgot to mark them as CD 1, CD 2, etc.  It became so hectic with kids pulling out the CD’s and mixing them up that finally after all the kids sang I was just passing out the CD’s without cases because they were all mixed up. 

This Karaoke Birthday Party was a hit for my 14 year old daughter.
